	EL PENSAMIENTO LATINOAMERICANO SOBRE EL PAISAJE DE LA CIUDAD This paper aims at the analysis and deconstruction of a significant array of ideas about urban landscape borne and developed over the last 150 years. From their writings and professional works, some essential authors’ introspections are presented. Especially: Camilo Sitte, Gordon Cullen, Kevin Lynch, Rob and Leon Krier. Their prescriptive thinking gave birth to a set of guidelines, directives and recommendations for the design of cities. This work intends to present a brief history of thoughts about urban issues with a critique of their possible influences and impacts on the current sustainability model of contemporary cities.
